Shire Limited, a biopharmaceutical company, has acquired 81% of the shares in Jerini through its wholly owned indirect subsidiary Shire Deutschland Investments, formerly Maia Elfte Vermogensverwaltungs.

The intention to make the voluntary takeover offer for a cash consideration of E6.25 per share was announced on July 3, 2008.

The offer period will expire on September 10, 2008, and the offer can be accepted until the last day of any additional acceptance period, said Shire.
