Spacelabs and Uscom sign distribution agreement

Spacelabs Healthcare, a developer of medical equipment and services, and Uscom, a medical device company, have signed a distribution agreement, giving Spacelabs exclusive distribution of the Uscom 1A ultrasonic cardiac output monitor in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.

The Uscom 1A offers real-time, beat-to-beat measurements of 20 parameters of cardiovascular function including cardiac output, stroke volume and systemic vascular resistance with additional parameters such as cardiac power, stroke work and oxygen delivery.

This patent-protected monitor is completely non-invasive and validated across a wide range of cardiac outputs in neonates, infants, children and adults. Its custom-designed transducers use high fidelity continuous-wave Doppler technology to accurately measure cardiac flow, the two companies said.

Paul Butler, CEO of Uscom, said: “We are pleased to partner with Spacelabs Healthcare as they bring 50 years of service to healthcare providers and their patients to this relationship. This expanded distribution will increase delivery of Uscom’s non-invasive, practice changing technology to the global market and further realize our ambition of providing improved care at lower cost and reduced risk.”
