news.Roche Diagnostics has announced that Quest Diagnostics has signed a multi-year agreement to use the Cobas AmpliPrep/Cobas TaqMan HIV-1 test for HIV viral load testing.

Physicians use the test information to monitor the effects of antiretroviral therapy by measuring changes in HIV-1 RNA levels. Roche’s newest HIV-1 viral load monitoring test is said to be the first fully automated real-time polymerase chain reaction test approved by the FDA.
