Active Motif and NIH sign multi-year deal for research software

Active Motif and Bioalma have announced that the Center for Information Technology at the National Institutes of Health has signed a multi-year deal to license AlmaKnowledgeServer 2 software.

The AlmaKnowledgeServer 2 software (AKS2) is a knowledge discovery system based on unique text mining methodologies developed by Bioalma. The Center for Information Technology will use AKS2 to support an annotation platform for the human salivary proteome project. The project has the long-term goal of supporting the discovery of saliva-based diagnostic tests.

Luis Cornide, general manager of Bioalma, said: “It is an important landmark for Bioalma that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has chosen our technology to complement their internal research projects.”
