CytRx names new CFO

CytRx, a biopharmaceutical R&D company, has appointed John Caloz as its new CFO. Mr Caloz replaces former CFO Mitchell Fogelman who resigned for personal reasons.

Mr Caloz joined CytRx in October 2007 and has served as the company’s chief accounting officer. Prior to joining CytRx, he served as CFO of publicly traded Occulogix from 2005 to 2006 and CFO of publicly traded Iris International, a manufacturer of medical devices.

Mr Caloz earned his accounting degree from York University, Toronto, Canada and is a chartered accountant.

Steven Kriegsman, president and CEO of CytRx, said: “I am pleased to acknowledge the contribution of John with this well-deserved promotion. John brings extensive experience with publicly held healthcare companies and has proven his abilities while working as CytRx’s chief accounting officer.

“The considerable talent and experience of Mr Caloz, along with his solid knowledge of CytRx, will provide strong support for the company’s further development.”
