Affymetrix names new executive vice president and general counsel

Prior to joining Affymetrix, Mr Runkel served as senior vice president and general counsel at Intuitive Surgical, a surgical robotics company. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of business development, general counsel and corporate secretary at Visx, a provider of laser vision correction technology.
