news.Boston Scientific, a medical device company, has appointed John Sununu to its board of directors.

The company has also announced that Joel Fleishman will retire from the board in May 2009.
For the past six years Mr Sununu served as a US senator from New Hampshire. Mr Sununu was a member of the committees on banking, commerce, finance and foreign relations, and he was appointed the congressional representative to the United Nations General Assembly.
Mr Sununu holds BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Pete Nicholas, chairman of the board of Boston Scientific, said: “John is a highly talented individual with broad and valuable experience in the areas of technology, science, business and government.
