Yu-Be moisturizer helps eczema

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream, Japan's top selling medicated moisturizer, has earned a doctor's endorsement for the treatment of eczema and other forms of dermatitis.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, moisturizing and cleansing are crucial to treating atopic dermatitis, yet 23% of adults with eczema do not use a moisturizer to treat their condition. When dry skin cracks, bacteria enters the skin, causing eczema, and moisturizers helps alleviate dry skin.

“Yu-Be has been very effective on severe dry skin conditions such as eczema for many of my patients and without the continued use of topical prescription steroid medications. Daily use of this excellent barrier cream can prove to be a useful tool in the unpleasant situation of chronic, severe dry skin and eczema,” said Dr Vicki Rapaport, a dermatologist from Beverly Hills, California.

According to Yu-Be, its moisturizing skin cream has been shown to reduce skin irritation and improve the overall appearance and health of the skin, even when conditions are severe.

The Yu-Be moisturizer is made up of 40% glycerin and contains vitamins E, B2 and camphor, and is said to aid in the treatment of a wide variety of skin irritations including eczema, atopic dermatitis, and wet suit rash. Furthermore, the company claims the product is mild enough for the effective treatment of diaper rash for newborns.

The product, which has been available on the Japanese market for around half a century, has recently been introduced onto the US market.
