Federal Court issues permanent injunction against Stryker

Acumed has reported that the US District Court of Oregon has issued a permanent injunction against Stryker, prohibiting it from further sales of its T2 Proximal Humeral Nail used in the treatment of shoulder fractures.

According to the evidence presented at trial, Acumed’s invention, the Polarus Humeral Rod, helped build the company. But Stryker, a medical implant company had tried to copy the invention to drive Acumed out of the very market it created, said Acumed.

Alan Kozlowski, president of Acumed, said: “It can be intimidating when the largest player in the marketplace targets you. We can handle legitimate competition, but they took our invention.”
