BD Medical – Ophthalmic Systems, a unit of BD, has an exclusive worldwide license from HyperBranch to market OcuSeal for use in ophthalmology. It will immediately begin to commercialize the product internationally.
OcuSeal is a fully synthetic ocular bandage designed as a temporary protective barrier to provide comfort for post-surgical, post-traumatic, and non-traumatic ocular conditions.
According to HyperBranch Medical, OcuSeal is designed to help decrease surgery time, reduce the need for sutures and reduce complications typically associated with surgical incisions, including infection and patient discomfort. It is intended for direct application on corneal, conjunctival and scleral surfaces.
