Sigma-Aldrich names new vice president and corporate controller

US-based pharmaceutical company Sigma-Aldrich has appointed Michael Kanan as its new vice president and corporate controller, effective April 13, 2009.

Mr Kanan succeeds Karen Miller who was recently promoted to vice president of strategy and corporate development. Mr Kanan will report to Rakesh Sachdev, vice president and CFO.

Mr Kanan’s most recent position at ArvinMeritor, a manufacturer of commercial and light vehicle systems, was vice president of finance for light vehicle systems since 2006.

Rakesh Sachdev, vice president and CFO of Sigma-Aldrich, said: “We are excited to welcome Mike to Sigma-Aldrich.
