ConvaTec, a developer and marketer of new medical technologies for community and hospital care, has appointed Paul Moraviec as the new president of its continence and critical care business unit and ConvaTec EMEA, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Based in Birkerod, Denmark, Mr Moraviec will have global responsibility for the continence and critical care business unit, a new business unit formed following ConvaTec’s integration of Unomedical, a manufacturer of single-use medical devices. Additionally, he will have responsibility for the EMEA region. As president, Mr Moraviec will join the company’s executive committee.
Prior to joining ConvaTec, Mr Moraviec was CEO of Prosurgics, a surgical robotics company. Prior to this, he held the position of vice president of international commercial operations for Abbott Laboratories diabetes care division.
