The German and the Indian governments have launched a new funding program to promote cooperation between the Indian and the German researchers in the fields of oncology, epidemiology and environmental toxicology, according to Scrip World Pharmaceutical News.

The Indian Council of Medical Research and the German education and research ministry are focusing on projects which involve scientists from universities, public research centres and private R&D companies. The projects are expected to aid both countries’ national health programs.
As part of the partnership, the governments’ hope to develop and commercialize all applicable scientific results that may be discovered. The last date for the submission of project proposals is May 30, 2008 and the funding for all selected projects is expected to commence in January 2009.
