Alverix, an optoelectronics company developing portable medical diagnostic instruments, has appointed James Merselis as its new president and CEO.

Mr Merselis will also serve as a member of the company’s board of directors.
Most recently, Mr Merselis served as president and CEO of HemoSense, a point-of-care diagnostics company. Prior to his tenure at HemoSense, Mr Merselis served as president and CEO of Micronics, a microfluidics company.
In addition, Mr Merselis held a number of positions over 22 with Boehringer Mannheim Diagnostics.
