NDC acquires anchoring technology from Phase One Medical

Nitinol Devices & Components, a privately held supplier of nitinol raw materials, has acquired a novel medical device anchoring technology from Phase One Medical, a medical device R&D company, brokered by Hatch Medical.

Acording to Nitinol Devices & Components (NDC), this anchoring technology integrates the superelastic material properties of nitinol with proprietary anchoring design elements to provide secure fixation and removability for minimally invasive medical devices.

The technology is anticipated to provide a platform for the production of a spectrum of innovative medical device therapies to the cardiovascular surgery and interventional radiology community.

The anchoring technology acquired from Phase One Medical offers several key advantages over those conventional technologies while retaining the same small dimensions required to deliver devices using minimally invasive techniques, said NDC.
