New hospital to be built in Makkah

A 500-bed maternity and children's hospital is planned to be built in the King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah. The construction of the hospital is estimated to cost approximately SR334 million.

The new five-story hospital complex to be built in Makkah is part of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health’s SR1 billion Makkah Al-Mukarrama Medical City project. It will be built on a 550,000-square-meter area at Al-Aziziyah district on the road to Mina. The new hospital is expected to receive patients by the second half of 2009 and will serve both the Saudis and pilgrims.

The Saudi government has signed agreements with Al-Fouzan Company, Safari Construction Company and Samama Group for the operation and maintenance of the hospital.
