Gamma-Dynacare Medical to acquire Central Medical Laboratories

Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories, a provider of laboratory services and solutions, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Central Medical Laboratories, a provider of community laboratory services. The transaction is expected to close December 1, 2008.

Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories (GDML) will provide employment to all Central Medical Laboratory employees. In addition, Gary Waldman, current president of Central Medical Laboratories, will remain with the company in Winnipeg under a consulting agreement with GDML.

Naseem Somani, CEO of GDML, said: “We welcome this opportunity to significantly enhance our operational presence in Manitoba, where we provide reference laboratory services to a number of hospitals and occupational testing services for corporate clients.”

Mr Waldman said: “This agreement represents an excellent opportunity to take our organization to the next level through our association with a proven and innovative industry leader. It’s great news for the people of Manitoba.”
