news.Thermo Fisher Scientific has named Marc Casper to the newly created position of COO, effective immediately, reporting to Marijn Dekkers, president and CEO of the company.

Casper previously served as president of Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Technologies businesses following the merger of Thermo Electron and Fisher Scientific in November 2006. Prior to this, Casper served as president, CEO and a director of Kendro Laboratory Products.
Casper earned an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Mr Dekkers, said: “We’ve already made great progress in capitalizing on the strengths of our new organization, and Marc’s new role will help us fully leverage our breadth of capabilities.”
