Under the terms of the agreement, Cardiovascular Systems will distribute Invatec’s FDA-cleared percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloon catheter product line. The agreement is believed to expand Invatec’s US sales presence, allowing more physicians access to Invatec’s products.
The Cardiovascular Systems and Invatec sales forces will partner in selling the Amphirion Deep 0.014 inch PTA balloon catheter line, which is the first dedicated below the knee PTA catheter, as well as the Submarine Plus 0.018 inch PTA balloon catheter and the Admiral Xtreme 0.035 inch PTA balloon catheter lines. Invatec will continue to sell and market its other interventional products, such as its thrombus management catheter, the Diver CE and the FiberNet embolic protection system.
Jack Springer, president of Invatec USA, said: “The strength and size of Cardiovascular Systems’s sales force, coupled with its track record of success in reaching a wide physician audience, will be instrumental in helping us to accelerate our market potential. Our primary objective is to place our innovative product portfolio into the hands of physicians and partnering with Cardiovascular Systems provides a great opportunity to achieve this goal.”
