news.Protein Discovery, a provider of mass spectrometry services, has appointed Jeffrey Komatz as its new CFO. Mr Komatz will be responsible for ensuring the continued financial health of Protein Discovery.

As the CFO, Mr Komatz will plan and manage the company’s financial and accounting activities, and will communicate information about them to the board of directors and others. Among his executive duties will be strategic, operational and tax planning, budget setting, pricing and profitability, financing; banking arrangements, financial statements, operational audits, compensation, leases and contracts, and cash flow forecasting and management.
Mr Komatz will report directly to Chuck Witkowski, II, president and CEO of Protein Discovery. Before joining Protein Discovery, Mr Komatz was corporate controller at RTI Biologics, and vice president and corporate controller at Tutogen Medical.
Mr Witkowski said: “I’m delighted that Jeffrey has joined Protein Discovery as our CFO. His proven experience in corporate finance and accounting, plus business acumen and executive leadership in the fast-paced life sciences field, will ensure that we operate efficiently and are well-positioned for new growth.”
