Applied Nanoscience expands patent portfolio

Applied Nanoscience has received formal notification for the issuance of a patent in Singapore for its core technology platform encompassing filtering devices incorporating nanoparticles.

The patent covers three main ways of associating the nanoparticles with filter media – having pellets of nanoparticles located adjacent to the filter media, coating the filter media with a powder of nanoparticles, and impregnating the nanoparticles into the filter media.

In addition, the company has received formal communication that the issuance of this same patent is imminent in Russia along with written confirmation that the granting of a patent based upon a divisional application is expected soon in India.

Thomas Allen, president and CEO, Applied Nanoscience, said: “This protection, coupled with our proprietary silver NanoFense Technology, makes for attractive licensing opportunities within identified market segments. We should be in a position in the very near future to disclose additional IP growth thanks to diligent efforts in over 50 countries.”
