According to the company, the Press-Fit Total Hip system is a new hip implant system that incorporates a dual taper design.
The initial regional release will follow with a rolling commercial release to an expanded surgeon network over the first half of 2009. As a complement to the Press-Fit Total Hip system, Cardo Medical is also preparing to release its Bipolar Hip system by February 2009.
Andrew Brooks, chairman and CEO of Cardo Medical, said: “Cardo Medical is proud to announce our first hip implant system release. In addition to the proven design incorporated into our Press-Fit Total Hip system, we will be rapidly expanding our hip offering to also include a Bipolar Hip and novel surgical techniques for minimally invasive total hip surgery.”
