Sanofi-Aventis has appointed Steve Oldfield as the new general manager of Sanofi-Aventis UK, effective June 2009.

Since joining Sanofi-Aventis in the UK in 1994, Mr Steve has achieved significant results for the company in a number of positions including marketing director and business unit director in Mexico, general manager in Thailand and Korea, and vice-president of cardiovascular franchise for global marketing in Paris.
Mr Steve was appointed director of commercial operations at Sanofi-Aventis UK in April 2007. During his tenure Mr Steve was responsible for developing and implementing a significant customer-centric organizational redesign. Mr Steve holds a graduate degree in modern languages from Sheffield University, UK.
Sanofi-Aventis UK chairman and managing director, Nigel Brooksby will take on the role of non-executive chairman until his retirement in August 2010, the company said.
