Abbott to establish nutrition manufacturing plant in China

Abbott is set to invest around $230m to set up a new nutrition manufacturing plant in Jiaxing, China, as part of plans to strengthen its nutrition and pharmaceuticals businesses in the Asia-Pacific region.

The new plant will engaged in the manufacturing of premium powdered milk products for Chinese infants and children.

Abbott expects to recruit around 300 people in the new plant.

Abbott Nutritional Products executive vice president John Landgraf said this facility will play a key role in providing science-based, nutritional products to infants and children while helping to build a healthier future for China.

When completed, the plant will become Abbott’s first fully integrated spray drying, blending and packaging facility in China.
