Airgas, Biologics Modular to provide modular research suites

Airgas and Biologics Modular have entered into an agreement to provide modular research suites for life sciences and pharmaceutical customers.

Under the three-year marketing, sales, and service agreement , Airgas will provide the specialty gases and equipment, cryogenic liquids and freezers, and laboratory design services, while Biologics Modular will manufacture, fit out, and deliver the modular suites and provide site preparation.

Airgas university and laboratory markets vice-president Todd Morris said the Biologics Modular platform enables the company to provide a flexible, cost-effective solution.

"Self-contained modular suites fully outfitted with the necessary equipment and gases or cryogenics serve as a viable short-term, and in some cases, permanent, solution," Morris added.

Biologics Modular junior president and CEO Clark Byrum said partnering with Airgas will allow the company to expand its sales and marketing to a larger channel of research, laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

"Their experience with leading research institutions and life science companies, coupled with our innovative facilities platform, provides access to a broader array of solutions for our customers," Byrum added.

"We look forward to working with Airgas and their life science team in delivering a combined facility solution to our customers."
