Almac Expands Pharmaceutical Services Facilities In Northern Ireland

Almac Group, the Ireland-based global pharmaceutical services provider, has completed the GBP9m expansion of its pharma services division at the group’s headquarters in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, to meet the growing business needs for integrated pharmaceutical development and commercial services.

Almac Group also said that the new laboratories enhance the existing analytical and microbiological drug product support services.

The completion of a three storey extension expanded pharma services division’s laboratory and office areas by 30,000sqft. Remodelling of the existing 120,000sqft commercial manufacture facility was completed in March 2010.

Significant expansion in microbiological and sterility test areas, added to new yellow light labs, is complemented by office and meeting room expansion to facilitate our increased client base. Method development, validation and transfer supporting multiple client projects, are offered over a range of technologies from our expanded facility.

Graeme McBurney, president and MD of Almac Pharma Services, said: “Increased client demand for our integrated services, from Product Development to Commercial Supply, has resulted in the strategic decision to make this investment and expansion, both in terms of space and the additional team members we are recruiting. I look forward to working with the current and new members of our team and to the continued success of Almac Pharma Services.”
