Amcor Appoints New Head Of Asia-Pacific Flexibles Business

Peter Brues to take over as president of Amcor Flexibles Europe and Americas division

Amcor has appointed Ralf Wunderlich, former MD of Linpac Packaging as the new head of its Asia-Pacific flexibles business. The company will there after concentrate on acquisition of Alcon, reported packaging news.

Mr Wunderlich will take up as the head on January 1, 2009. Earlier, he worked with Linpac Plastics, as managing director and renamed it ‘Linpac Packaging’.

Prior to joining Linpac Packaging, Wunderlich headed Alcan Packaging Global Tobacco. He also worked in Asia Pacific for the Australian group.

Qouted packaging news, Wunderlich, saying: “Being part of the world’s leading packaging group, as Amcor will be after the acquisition of Alcan, is hugely exciting. It was an offer that I couldn’t resist.”

Moreover, the announcement was made before the EU was give its judgment on the Amcor-Alcan deal. The combined business will have seven units under Ken Mackenzie, chief executive of Amcor.

The company also said that Peter Brues, president of Amcor Flexibles Healthcare will take over as the president of Amcor Flexibles Europe and Americas division. It includes Amcor Flexibles Food and Healthcare and Alcan Packaging Global Pharmaceutical and Food Europe.
