AmerisourceBergen appoints new president, chief operating officer

AmerisourceBergen has appointed Steven Collis as president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Collis previously was executive vice president of AmerisourceBergen and president of AmerisourceBergen Drug (ABDC), the company’s largest subsidiary.

Prior to that he was executive vice president of AmerisourceBergen and president of AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group (ABSG).

Collis will be responsible for all AmerisourceBergen business units including ABDC, ABSG, AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services (ABCS), and AmerisourceBergen Packaging Group (ABPG).

AmerisourceBergen CEO David Yost said that in his 16 years with AmerisourceBergen, Collis led both ABDC and ABSG to outstanding performance.

"He grew ABSG from a start-up into a $16bn business and last fiscal year led ABDC to stellar performance in a difficult economic environment," Yost said.

"In his new role, Collis will now have the ability to further grow our business, drawing on the strengths of each unit to deliver compelling offerings to all of our stakeholders, and to drive even greater efficiency."

AmerisourceBergen is a pharmaceutical services company serving both the healthcare providers and the pharmaceutical manufacturers in the US, Canada and selected global markets.
