news.Aurobindo Pharma, an India-based Pharmaceutical company, has obtained Health Canada approval for its abbreviated new drug submission for Cefprozil tablets 250mg and 500mg and Cefprozil powder for oral suspension (PFOS) 125mg/5ml and 250mg/5ml.

Cefprozil (Cefzil) is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It treats many kinds of infections, including those of the respiratory tract, skin, ears.
Cefprozil is the generic equivalent of Canadian reference product Cefzil of Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada and falls under the therapeutic category.
Cefzil is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin (SEF a low spor in) antibiotics. It works by interfering with the formation of the bacteria’s cell wall while it is growing. This causes the cell wall to be destroyed and kills the bacteria.
With these approval Aurobindo now has 11 products approved by Health Canada.
