Balchem appoints two new directors

Balchem has appointed Paul Coombs and David Fischer as directors of the company.

Coombs is appointed to the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees while Fischer is appointed to the Audit and Compensation Committees.

Coombs, retired since 2008 from Tetra Technologies, served in various roles, including executive vice president of Strategic Initiatives, executive vice president and chief operating officer and is currently a director of Tetra Technologies.

Fischer is the president and chief operating officer of Greif, a supplier of industrial packaging systems.

Fischer joined Greif in 2004 to lead their Industrial Packaging & Services – Americas, and was appointed COO in 2007 and has been integral in developing the strategy and successful execution of various Greif operations, including facilitation of numerous acquisitions, strategic divestitures, consolidations and business integrations.

Prior to Greif, Fischer was with Dow Chemical Company for over 18 years, where he most recently had been the business vice president for the $1.8bn polyurethane business.

Balchem Board chairman, president and CEO Dino Rossi said that both Fischer and Coombs bring significant individual and industry experience that would contribute to their overall growth strategy.

Balchem, through its ARC Specialty Products, provides specialty-packaged chemicals for use in healthcare and other industries, while through its Food, Pharma and Nutrition segment provides proprietary microencapsulation, granulation and agglomeration solutions to a variety of applications in the human pharmaceutical, food and nutrition marketplaces.
