Mr Boussard replaces Jacques Lhomel, who is taking retirement to pursue a number of personal projects.
Biocitech said that Mr Boussard, joins Biocitech after a long and successful biotechnology career in both academic and industry fields. From 1994, after six years as patents, licensing and legal director in a financial holding company, he was an independent consultant in enterprise creation and technology transfer.
Reportedly, in 1998, he founded and was CEO of Substrat, a consulting company specialised in enterprise creation and management, project management and technology transfer in the field of biotechnology.
Prior to Substrat, he was a manager for pharmaceuticals and biotechnology at France’s innovation agency, Anvar, from 1982 to 1988. From 1979-82, he was a biologist at LERS Synthelabo after an earlier spell as a research scientist at the University of Metz.
Mr Boussard, said: “I am delighted to join such a go-ahead organisation as Biocitech, one of the key players in biotechnology in France and Europe. I am looking forward to putting my scientific, legal and financial know-how to use to continue the rapid development of the park. My past experience means I know exactly how biotech companies work – and this should enable me to make a real contribution to the efforts made by the team at Biocitech to respond to the needs of our present and future resident companies.”
