Kane Biotech gets US patent for methods to inhibit biofilm formation

Kane Biotech has received a patent fromthe US Patent and Trademark Office for certain synergistic antimicrobial compositions and methods of inhibiting biofilm formation in a variety of applications including medical devices.

This technology was patented in Canada in May 2007 and is the third new patent awarded to Kane within the last twelve months. This brings the company’s estate of issued and pending patents to over forty.

Gord Froehlich, president and CEO, Kane Biotech, said: “We are pleased to see our antibiofilm technology being recognized and patented by key patent offices. This patent supports our other protamine sulfate based antibiofilm technology patents.”
