China Ruitai gets cellulose ether contract from ThinFilm

China Ruitai International has received a 50 ton cellulose ether contract valued at $0.5m from ThinFilm, a Shanghai-based pharmaceutical tablet and pill coating company.

China Ruitai said that its cellulose ethers cater to a variety of industries in China including the pharmaceutical, packaged food, personal care and cosmetic industries.

Particularly, in the pharmaceutical industry, depending on the end product, cellulose ethers are used as coating and binding agent for pharmaceutical drugs.

As a result of increased demand for the company’s ethyl crystalline (EC) product line from pharmaceutical customers, the company has created a sales department for this sector at the company’s Feicheng Headquarters in the Shandong province, China Ruitai said.

China Ruitai chairman Dianmin Ma said that the ThinFilm order is the result of their focus in the pharmaceutical industry where they see the potential for their cellulose ether products.
