Coventry partners retail, pharmacy stores to introduce prescription drug plan

Coventry Health Care has partnered with retail and pharmacy stores Walmart, Target and Walgreens to offer First Health Value Plus prescription drug plan (PDP) across the US.

The PDP is said to be a zero-dollar deductible Part D plan by the company.

First Health Value Plus, built on preferred pharmacy networks, offers lower member co-payments for prescriptions filled at any one of the combined Walgreens, Walmart and Target pharmacy locations.

Members can receive free Tier 1 formulary prescriptions when filled at any Walgreens, Walmart or Target pharmacy before reaching the coverage gap, as per the preferred network pharmacy benefit design.

Coventry Health Care Medicare senior vice president Nancy Cocozza said the Part D plan would bring value to beneficiaries and the Medicare program by establishing broad access to prescriptions, low monthly premiums and no deductible.
