As per the agreement, both the parties have decided to work together for identifying ventures and technologies from academia and early stage projects in Texas for strengthening R&D portfolio of Roche.
In connection with that, Roche and CPRIT will offer financial help to the new ventures.
The agreement further allows Roche to evaluate investment opportunities and will give access to its drug development, scientific knowledge, manufacturing, regulation, clinical studies and marketing expertise to the selected ventures.
CPRIT chief commercialization officer Jerry Cobbs said combining Roche’s expertise and resources with CPRIT’s cancer research portfolio presents an opportunity for promising cancer research discoveries and Texas bio-pharma start-ups to go global.
