Schering-Plough names new president of Global Supply Chain

Schering-Plough has reported that the company's board of directors has approved an expanded role and promotion for Ian McInnes to president, Global Supply Chain.

McInnes joined Schering-Plough as senior vice president, Global Supply Chain, in May 2004. He holds both a B S degree in manufacturing technology and manufacturing management and a Ph D degree in manufacturing engineering and systems from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mr McInnes, an adviser to company’s executive management team, is responsible for more than 60 manufacturing sites worldwide. His responsibility for global supply chain operations includes the supply of products to company’s customers to meet market requirements, as well as the development and implementation of a global manufacturing strategy that integrates all manufacturing facilities worldwide. These include facilities for human prescription medicines and for animal health and consumer health care products. Mr McInnes additionally is responsible for the company’s global procurement activities.
