DCOM Selects Allscripts Electronic Health Record, Practice Management Solution

To automate everyday clinical tasks and enhance quality of patient care delivered

Allscripts has announced that Diagnostic Center of Medicine (DCOM) has selected Allscripts Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) for its physicians in three locations.

DCOM is upgrading their current practice management solution and implementing an Electronic Health Record, to automate everyday clinical tasks and enhance the quality of patient care delivery.

Michelle Conger, CEO of DCOM, said: “DCOM expects to save $4.1 million over five years with the Electronic Health Record, largely from reduced transcription charges, more accurate billing, and lower expenses for records management. Motivated by those cost-savings but also more powerfully by the promise of enhanced patient care, DCOM’s physicians were ready when the decision to implement an EHR was made.”

Our doctors are excited about using Allscripts because it will allow them to spend more time with patients, give them better access to patient information when and where they need it, and we think it will also contribute to better patient outcomes, he added.
