iCAD and GE Healthcare sign developmental agreement

iCAD, provider of computer-aided detection solutions and GE Healthcare, manufacturer of Senographe Full-Field Digital Mammography systems, have agreed to develop a customized version of iCAD's SecondLook Digital specific to GE's Senographe and Seno Advantage family of systems.

This next generation computer-aided detection (CAD) system is designed to enhance the overall clinical performance with Senographe and Seno Advantage systems, specifically improving sensitivity to breast cancer imaging, enhancing usability and workflow as well as providing diagnostic support tools.

SecondLook Digital offers radiologists CAD technology that is designed to distinguish cancers from other anomalies in the breast. In addition to workflow advantages, SecondLook Digital is said to detect up to 72% of actionable missed cancers an average of 15 months earlier and integrates seamlessly with DICOM systems.

Ken Ferry, president and CEO of iCAD, said: “By customizing iCAD’s technology for GE’s systems, currently used in leading radiology centers worldwide, we believe that we will increase the many benefits of this system for radiologists, and ultimately provide an even higher level of detection for women.”
