Dr. Reddy’s introduces generic REQUIP XL tablets in US

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, an integrated pharmaceutical company, has introduced Ropinirole Hydrochloride XR (extended-release) tablets of strengths 2mg, 4mg, 6mg, 8mg, and 12mg.

The launch was followed by the approval of Dr. Reddy’s ANDA by the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA).

Ropinirole Hydrochloride XR is the bioequivalent generic version of REQUIP XL tablets.

The 2mg, 4mg and 6mg strengths of Ropinirole Hydrochloride XR (Extended-Release) tablets are made available in 30 and 90 count bottle sizes where as 8mg and 12mg are available in 30 count bottle sizes.

According to IMS Health, the REQUIP XL brand had approximately $58m sales in the US for the twelve months ending March 2012.
