news.DSM, a Netherlands-based a multinational chemical company specialized in life sciences and materials sciences, has named Alexander Wessels, current president and CEO of DSM Food Specialties, as president and CEO of DSM Pharmaceutical Products.

Mr Wessels will replace Bob Hartmayer, who is going to retire at the end of 2010.
Mr Wessels will to continue to report to Stephan Tanda, member of the DSM managing board. He will work together with Mr Hartmayer through a transition period and take up the responsibility for DSM Pharmaceutical Products from November 1, 2010.
Reportedly, Hans Christian Ambjerg, the current senior vice president of film & fibre with Borealis, will succeed Mr Wessels as president and CEO of DSM Food Specialties from August 1, 2010. He will to report to Mr Tanda.
Mr Ambjerg, a Danish national, is experienced in the health and nutrition industry. He has built a long standing career in general management and marketing positions with chairman Hansen, Hercules and Danisco all over the world. His track record in the industry, building business and realizing growth is expected to allow him to impact the business in the nutrition cluster.
