Cambrex names new vice president, general counsel and secretary

Cambrex, a provider of analytical and cell culture products and contract services, has appointed Michael Zachara as its new vice president, general counsel and secretary, reporting to the company's CEO, Steven Klosk. Mr Zachara succeeds Peter Thauer, who retired from the company at the end of December 2008.

As general counsel, Mr Zachara will lead Cambrex’s legal function, overseeing the traditional legal activities related to commercial transactions, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, environmental, litigation, employment, corporate governance, Securities and Exchange Commission compliance, mergers and acquisitions and other legal matters.

Mr Zachara formerly held the position of assistant general counsel and assistant secretary at Cambrex since June 2008. Previously, Mr Zachara was with Sun Chemical from 1997 to 2008 as senior corporate attorney, assistant secretary and director of real estate.

Mr Klosk said: “Mike has over 17 years of broad international legal and corporate management experience. In his new position as general counsel, Mike will have a key role as part of our management team to help guide our growth initiatives.”
