Ms Brainerd is the president and CEO of HealthPartners, a family of non-profit Minnesota health care organizations. She also serves on the boards of Minnesota Life/Securian, The St Paul Foundation, Capital City Partnership, Minnesota Council of Health Plans, Alliance of Community Health Plans, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Kendrick Melrose, chairman of the board at SurModics, said: “We are very pleased to have Mary join the board. I believe her experience in the healthcare industry will be a valuable asset to the company, and we look forward to her contributions as SurModics continues its growth.”
