Biotel names new EVP of business development, sales and marketing

These include the Eagan-based braemar division, manufacturer of cardiac monitoring systems as well as tissue management and fluid extraction equipment; the Chicago-based agility division, a clinical research organization providing electrocardiogram monitoring services for clinical trials; and the advanced biosensor division, based in South Carolina, a service and support facility for heart monitors in hospitals.

The company said that Mr Strandquist will be working to add business through new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) development partners.

Mr Strandquist, who was previously head of Braemar, joined the company in January 2002 as general manager and served as Braemar president since October 2002. Before that, he held executive management positions at ELA Medical, Angeion and Medtronic.

Biotel also announced that Paul Brinda has joined the company as COO of the Braemar division. He was previously director of R&D at Minntech Corporation.

The company also announced that its advanced biosensor division has now been consolidated organizationally into Braemar, and will do business under that name going forward. Management and operations remain in South Carolina. In addition, Biotel said that it has transferred manufacturing of its Braemar tissue management and fluid extraction equipment from King, North Carolina, to Braemar headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota.
