Humana names new board member

Humana, a health and supplemental benefits company, has appointed William Mitchell to its board of directors.

Mr Mitchell is chairman of the board and CEO of Arrow Electronics, a provider of products, services and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions.

In addition, the following board members were re-elected to one-year terms: David Jones, Jr, chairman, Frank D’Amelio, Roy Dunbar, Kurt Hilzinger, Humana president and CEO Michael McCallister, William McDonald, James O’Brien, Marissa Peterson, and Ann Reynolds.

David Jones, Jr, chairman of the board at Humana, said: “Bill’s wide range of experience creating and executing information-technology solutions for a variety of enterprises worldwide is closely aligned with Humana’s growing leadership in healthcare IT. Bill is a visionary as well as a practical, hands-on leader. The board and the company will benefit greatly from his counsel.”
