Fiege opens first medical distribution center in the Netherlands

The Fiege Group, a German-based logistics provider, has opened its first medical distributon center in Hengelo, Netherlands, and will deliver medical goods to the country's healthcare segment.

<p>Fiege said it marks the beginning of a comprehensive logistical co-operation within the healthcare segment in the Netherlands between Fiege and Twente Group of Hospitals, i.e. Ziekenhuisgroep Twente. <br /><br />The new medical distribution center, which is approximately 3,500 square meters of warehouse and logistics space, will operate as a central facility for all logistical services which Fiege Healthcare Logistics perform not only for the Ziekenhuisgroep Twente, but also for further healthcare services within the east of the Netherlands.<br /><br />Fiege said the co-operation concentrates on warehouse logistics applied at the hospitals. Medical consumables, as well as office supplies, groceries and other commodities will be logistically handled by Fiege. The company said a separate, fully air-conditioned warehouse segment houses sterile material.</p>
