Firecrest Clinical Appoints New CEO

Firecrest Clinical, an e-technology solution provider, has appointed Alan Horgan as a new chief executive officer of the company.

Mr Horgan began working in the drug development sector in 1997 and moved to the US in 2000. He began working with Firecrest Clinical in 2009 to establish its operations in the US and globalise business.

Possessing many years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, Mr Horgan has held several high-level positions in the healthcare clinical research organisation (CRO) sector. He worked in MDS Pharma Services as group vice president, late stage development, and at Covance as corporate senior vice president and president, clinical development.

Gerard Ryan, chairman of Firecrest, said: “The 10 years that Mr Horgan has spent working with large CROs, coupled with his deep understanding of the challenges facing investigative sites, will undoubtedly lead Firecrest in its quest to drive site performance in complex clinical trials. We are happy to have him on board.”
