First Coast Oncology deploys RayStation system

RaySearch Laboratories has received an order for its RayStation treatment planning system from First Coast Oncology in Jacksonville, Florida, US.

First Coast will deploy RayStation at oncology in conventional radiation treatment planning, which will begin in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The treatment will also include IMRT with multi-criteria optimization and full deformable registration and adaptive re-planning technologies.

RaySearch is also planning to render services for the Jacksonville Mevion Proton Therapy Center, which is scheduled to open in 2013 by partnering with Mevion Medical Systems and First Coast Oncology.

First Coast Oncology medical director Scot Ackerman said,"Providing our patients with exceptional cancer treatments is our goal and I feel that RaySearch is the best fit for our needs."

RaySearch America Marc Mlyn president said, "First Coast Oncology will be the first MEVION S250 Proton Therapy System / RayStation® turnkey solution to be installed in 2013."
