GSK, MedTrust Partner To Develop CancerTrials App For Apple iPhone, iPad Platforms

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and MedTrust Online have teamed up for the development of CancerTrials App, a free geolocating cancer clinical trials application for the Apple iPhone and iPad platforms.

GSK and MedTrust said that with CancerTrials App, cancer doctors can easily find and share information about experimental therapies in clinical trials with their patients.

GSK and MedTrust added that the CancerTrials App provides a quick search menu based on 12 common cancers and more advanced features that refine searches as per criteria such as gender, age, trial status and more. Once relevant trials are found, results can be mapped relative to the location of the iPhone or iPad running the application.

Jeffrey Bloss, vice president of medicine development leader for GSK Oncology, said: We are pleased to work with MedTrust Online to bring simple and effective information-based solutions to the cancer community.

Leo Otake, vice president of Medical Informatics for MedTrust Online, said: Our community of oncologists continues to ask for information about the latest therapies in a format that fits their busy schedule. This joint development with GSK Oncology has resulted in an electronic tool that brings cancer doctors closer to their patients.
