GVK launches isotope labelling unit in India

Drug discovery research and development organization, GVK Biosciences (GVK BIO) has launched an isotope labelling unit in India.

The Good Laboratory Practice compliant facility received all statutory approvals from the Atomic Energy Review Board of India to conduct 3H and 14C synthesis.

GVK BIO CEO Manni Kantipudi said many of its customers requested for the expansion of chemistry services to add isotope labeling services.

"We listened to our customers and setup this state-of-the art facility which is the largest such facility in India," Kantipudi added.

New labelling facility’s equipment meets the needs of various companies specialized in drug discovery and development, agro and veterinary chemicals, cosmetics, perfumery and specialty studies, according to GVK.

The company’s discovery services include chemistry, biology and informatics while the development services include clinical research, clinical pharmacology and process R&D.
