Huber expands Quincy facility

Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a division of JM Huber, has expanded its Quincy, Illinois manufacturing facility to accommodate additional capacity for calcium carbonate granulation production for its Health & Nutrition business unit.

The expansion will be integrated into the existing HuberCal calcium carbonate milling operations and will increase GMP capabilities at the Quincy site.

The Quincy calcium carbonate granulation manufacturing facility will mirror the granulation line at HEM’s Modesto plant.

Huber Health & Nutrition business president and GM Minas Apelianvice said as customer demand at their Modesto (California) operation has grown steadily, they have been evaluating various expansion options.

"Logistical and economical efficiencies will be created such as responsive and shortened transit times and freight cost savings," Apelianvice said.
